We're looking a Great new team member!

Occu-Med Health Services has an immediate opening for an RN or RPN to join our Service Delivery team, as an Occupational Health Nurse.

We require a Nurse to:

  1. conduct employee health tests, which will include physical exams, vision screening, hearing tests, PFTs and other tests.
We can provide training on any of these as required.
  2. provide occupational health support at a client site for 1.5 to 2.5 days per week.
(this function would require an RN with prior occupational health experience)

This is a permanent, part time or casual position with room for growth.  Our work is scheduled based on staff availability, so this position would be suitable for someone returning to work or even for a retired or semi-retired nurse.

A bit about us:

Occu-Med is a 42 year old provider of occupational health services to employers.

As part of our medical surveillance testing we have Nurses and other health professionals who:

  • travel to client sites to conduct employee health testing onsite,
  • conduct employee health tests at our office clinic, or
  • are placed at client locations to provide occupational health services on a contract basis.

We operate a mobile health testing unit, which we use where required.  In other cases, nurses use company vehicles to travel to client sites.

What are we looking for?

The requirements:

The successful applicant will have:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability & willingness to travel in Southwestern Ontario (a valid license is required)
  • Willingness to learn new things, as we often crosstrain members of our team.

  • Outstanding willingness to serve others.
  • Valid Nursing license in Ontario

We offer:

What we offer:
Flexibility To a limited extent, we're able to schedule some work around the availability of our staff.
A different environment We take our work seriously - but unlike a hospital or clinic, we mostly do preventative testing on healthy workers...so we see very few grumpy patients!
Team Support Service delivery staff often work in teams - and we all pitch in where necessary.

We demand of each other:

  • That our health professionals represent themselves and our firm in a friendly, courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • That all team members be able to work as part of a "peer" team where we expect you to offer your opinion and thoughts.
  • That you be willing to work with the team - and pitch in when necessary.
  • That you be passionate about presenting your ideas during discussions, but know that we all head in the same direction once decisions are made.

To Apply:

We accept applications to the email addresss 'hr [at] occumedhealth.com' in Word or PDF format.   This position is a permanent, part time, 'elect-to-work' position, based at our office in London, and slated to start before the end of September.

We thank you for your interest.

We're looking for a Great new team member!

Occu-Med Health Services has an immediate opening for an X-Ray Technologist.

As part of our medical surveillance testing we operate a mobile health testing unit with an X-Ray unit.  Essentially, we run an X-Ray clinic on wheels!  We require an X-Ray tech to travel to client sites (we do only a few x-rays at our office locations) and operate the X-Ray machine in our mobile unit.

This is a permanent, part time or casual position with room for growth.  Much of our work is scheduled based on staff availability, so this position would be suitable for an entry-level person, someone returning to work, or even a semi-retired technologist.

What are we looking for?

First & foremost - we're looking for someone that fits with our organization and our team. We want people who have a "can do" attitude, and who are able & willing to travel in Southwestern Ontario.

The requirements:

The successful applicant will have:

  • Current MRT credentials/registration
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability & willingness to travel in Southwestern Ontario  (must possess valid driver's license)
  • Good ability to communicate in English, since communicating with clients is a key requirement
  • Commitment to quality & positive customer service
  • Outstanding willingness to serve patients & clients
What we offer:
Flexibility To a limited extent, we're able to schedule some work around the availability of our staff.
A different environment
We take our work seriously - but unlike in a hospital, we mostly do preventative testing on healthy workers...so we see very few grumpy patients!
Team Support
Our technicians will often work in a team that includes one of more nurses and other technicians.  We do everything we can to support our team members.
A long term opportunity
We've been in business for 33 years!
and we're really looking for someone that will stay with us for a while.
A different type of experience We often do high volume testing where we do dozens to hundreds of X-rays in a block of time.  Combine this with the ability to get cross-trained on other services, and this is quite a different experience than you'd get in a hospital.

The pay:

  • We pay team members on an hourly basis and/or on a fee-for-service basis with a set rate for each X-Ray or other service provided.  Historically, our X-Ray technicians have earned between $ 30 & $ 75/hour on our compensation plan.
